Sam’s Spa

OK, so I’ll let you in on a little local’s secret: Sam’s Spa in Sky Valley.

It’s a great place to have a pool day with your besties and I think it would make a great place for a low-key bachelorette party.

Definitely off-the-beaten-path, as far as Palm Springs area spa resorts are concerned; it’s actually part of a trailer park, can you believe it? But totally worth it, as you will have most of the place to yourself, especially in the shoulder season,  and it is more than affordable.

Unlike a lot of other spas, the hot mineral springs spas are naturally heated, straight from the hot springs, and each of the pools (which are very clean) has a different temperature. I recommend starting off gently with the not too hot pool and gradually working your way up in temperature, with cool water dips in between to stimulate your senses. You’ll sleep like a baby afterwards.

The grounds are large, and nice for walking around to explore the waterfall, lagoon  and bird sanctuary.

You can even bring a picnic lunch or grill on the barbecues. There is a small shop where you can purchase wine and beer, too. Or BYOB. How convenient is that?

So, will I get in trouble for sharing this local’s secret with you? Probably.

But, hey, I love you guys!

Sam’s Spa is located on Dillon Road in Sky Valley, on the east end of Desert Hot Springs, just north of Palm Springs. Go there now before everyone else finds out about it.

Hi! I'm Nuvea. I live in Southern California with my husband, three horses, four dogs and one cat, but can frequently be found restoring our tiny stone cottage and olive grove in Portugal.
